The Sanctuary of the Holy Family Message of June 29, 2000.

Our Work on this Journey through Life will be:

    1. To pray at all times for the strength to survive all that is going to happen and to make sacrifices for the Salvation of Souls. . (Luke 21 V 36) (Luke 22 V 31-33).
    2. By our actions, to preach the good news of repentance for the forgiveness of sins and to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28V18-20) (Luke 24V46-48).
    3. To bind up hearts that are broken; to open the eyes of the blind; to free captives from prison and those that live in darkness from the dungeon. (Isaiah 42V6, 7)
    4. To look for the lost one, bring back the stray, bandage the wounded and make the weak strong. (Ezekiel 34V16).

Our Food for the Journey will be provided by:

    1. The Eucharist.. .”1 am the Bread of Life. I am the Living Bread which has come down from Heaven, anyone who eats this Bread will live forever; and the bread which 1 shall give is my flesh, and whoever eats me will draw life from me. (John 6 V51, 57.)
    2. The Word of God…(Scripture Reading): “Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the word of God.” (Matthew 4V4)
    3. Doing the Will of the Father.. ,”My food is to do the will of the one who sent me and to complete His work.” (John 4V14).

Our Drink for the Journey will be:

    1.  The Blood of Christ… “Drink all of you from this, for this is my Blood, which is to be poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.” (Matthew 26V26.)
    2. The Cup of Salvation.. .”1 have trust now and no fear, for Yahweh is my strength, my song. He is my salvation. And you will draw water joyfully from the springs of Salvation. (Isaiah 12V2, 3.)
    3. Living Water.. Anyone who drinks the water that I shall give will never be thirsty again: the water that I shall give will turn into a spring inside him, welling up to eternal life.” (John 4V14)
    4. The cup of Suffering… At Gethsemane, Jesus was filled with great distress and He said to His disciples; “My soul is sorrowful to the point of death. Wait here and pray. He threw Himself to the ground and prayed, “Abba, Father, everything is possible for you. Take this cup away from me. But let it be, as you, not I, would have it. (Mark 14V32-42). Jesus said to the sons of Zebedee, “The cup that I must drink you shall drink, and with the Baptism with which I must be baptized you shall be baptized.” (Mark 10V35-40).

Our Clothes for the Journey will be:

    1. Power from on high (The Holy Spirit)…(Luke 24V49)
    2. Truth buckled round our waist, integrity for a breastplate, eagerness to spread the gospel of peace as shoes on our feet, carrying the shield of faith to put out the burning arrows of the evil one, salvation from God as our helmet and the word of God from the Spirit to use as a sword. (Ephesians 6vl4-17).
    3. Sincere compassion, in kindness and humility, gentleness and patience. We will bear with one another; forgive each other as soon as a quarrel begins. The Lord has forgiven us; now we must do the same. Over all these clothes, to keep them together and complete them, put on LOVE. We are God’s chosen race, his saints. May the peace of Christ reign in our hearts, because it was for this that we were called together as parts of one body. Always be thankful. (Colossians 3V12-1).

We shall live in the presence of the LORD all the days of our lives…

    (Psalm 27V4)

    1. In the center of our being, in the stillness of our hearts… Prayer (Psalm 46V10)
    2. Giving Him praise, thanksgiving, adoration and worship before the Blessed Sacrament where He is present day and night. (Psalms 50V14, 15).
    3. Together with the community of Church…Holy Mass (Acts 2V42-47)
    4. By frequent confession… A pure and contrite heart you will not spurn, O Lord. (Psalm 51VI7). Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see the face of God. (Matthew 5V8). Lord, how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me? As often as seven times? Jesus answered, “Not seven times, I tell you, but seventy- seven times.” (Matthew 18V21, 22).
    5. With fasting, weeping and mourning for our sins and those of the whole world. (Joel 2V12, 13).
